BALLERUP, Denmark, 05 February 2018. “We are happy to announce that we have entered into a partnership with International Health Partners. The partnership will cover product donations, a financial donation to support the distribution of medicines and various engagement initiatives for our employees. By donating our products, we believe, LEO Pharma can help make a difference for people in areas of the world hit by major disasters or humanitarian crisis,” says James McPherson, Senior Vice President, Global Product Supply, LEO Pharma.
IHP coordinates the response of the European healthcare industry to major disasters. The organisation works closely with governments, international organisations and leading medical NGOs to deliver lifesaving treatments immediately after a disaster, and filling gaps in supply during the recovery and reconstruction periods. In 2017, IHP delivered 2 million treatments into 32 countries.
“We are proud to be supported by LEO Pharma in our mission to increase access to medicines for all. We believe that quality, long dated and essential healthcare products should be available to all. LEO Pharma’s financial and product support demonstrate a company-wide commitment that will impact many thousands of people affected by displacement, conflict and a lack of resources. The partnership with LEO Pharma will lead to a significant improvement in the range of derma treatments IHP is able to provide,” explains Adele Paterson, CEO and Head of Corporate Partnerships, International Health Partners.
LEO Pharma’s vision is to become the preferred dermatology care partner improving people’s lives around the world. The partnership with IHP supports this ambition and links to one of the focus areas for LEO Pharma’s global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.
“As part of our CSR Commitment 2018-2020, we are focusing on the right to health. And providing access to medicines to people in the developing world, who would otherwise have no access to treatment supports our commitment,” says Mette Vestergaard, Senior Vice President, Global People and Communications and Chairman of CSR Board, LEO Pharma.
